PlantCad Module
The PlantCAD module is an advanced tool for drawing and designing a landscape plan, allowing you to Drag and Drop plant objects. With a mouse click you can size the plant objects and then enter the details of the plants into a database for later retrieval. Plus see what your plants will look like in 5-30 years. The growth simulation features allows you to grow your plants by years or pixels.
Features
- Grids and rulers makes the layout of your plan easy! Grids are user definable. You can select the grid size and color together with the measurement settings. Rulers assist you in drawing to scale and the mouse cursor position is shown to places to make drawing to scale a breeze.
- There is a wizard to assist you in setting up your project from scratch.
- Save several versions of your plan
- 2 libraries supplied containing 340+ objects. One library contains plant objects in various colors and shapes. The other contains products such as furniture, patio items, directional arrows, birdhouses, rocks, etc.
- You can make your own objects and add them to the library. You are never restricted for objects to use in your design!
- Landscape plans can be up to twice the width and depth of your screen. You can use the Zoom function to view the entire plan on the screen.
- Text objects can be added to a plan and these can also be edited, repositioned, duplicated and deleted at any time. They can also have transparent backgrounds, be borderless and contain the botanical and common names of plants when required.
- As you draw lines the length of the line is shown in the taskbar
If you forget where a plant was placed in the garden, search the database for the record and then ask the database to highlight where it is on the plan
If a plant is transplanted to another area, you only need to drag and drop the plant object in its correct position. If a plant dies you can delete the plant from the plan and remove the information from the database.

Printing your Plan:
Print your landscape on any size paper that your printer supports. The plan will then be scaled to fit the paper size. You can either print the whole plan, or, for large plans, print them separately in four sectors. Other options include:
- Adding your companies name, contact info and customer name as shown here.
- Adding a legend to go with your printout
- You can Auto-Generate an Object Legend from within a project.
- Selecting a paper page size
- Choosing your orientation: landscape or portrait
- Selecting your own font and size
- Add a border to the page.
- Add a border to the plan.
- Add a shaded box to the top or bottom.
- Print Preview allows you to manipulate the plan size and align it on your paper.
- A Title Block replaces the letterhead for a more professional look.
