Groundnuts contain nearly 3 times the amount of protein as potatoes. Collect their roots and seeds all winter long. Contain naturally occuring isoflavones which are being studied for the prevention of breast cancer.
Roots are best cooked like other legumes. Use the roots just as you would potatoes. The seeds can be ground and added to any bread mix. Soak the seeds overnight and cook like lentils.


Gaarlic Mustard Garlic Mustard
Alliaria petiolata

Garlic Mustard leaves can be added to salads for a garlic flavour. The seeds pods can be fried or crushed to use as a condiment. Can add the leaves to any dishes in which a garlic flavour is desired.
Leaves can be used as a poultice for boils and other skin ulcers, wounds, and cuts. Leaf tea is a blood purifier. The flowering parts are expectorant, antiseptic, stimulant, and antiasthmatic. Use to expel worms.

Capsella barsa-pastoris

Shepherd's Purse is another that can be used raw in salads. The aerial parts are antiseptic and diuretic. Used to treat vericose veins and stimulate circulation.
