Gerbera Daisy, Pink
Gerbera Daisy, Pink
Gardeners all over the world are discovering the joys of growing gerberas. These cheery tender perennials are also known as 'Transvaal' or 'South African' daisies after their native home of Transvaal Province, South Africa. Only now are they making a splash in the US, and Spring Hill is proud to offer this top quality specimen. Large and velvety, gerbera's daisylike blooms come in a rainbow of vivid colors and dance above a cushion of soft, lush foliage on thick, sturdy stems. Often the flower form is so perfect and uniform that they may be mistaken for artificial flowers. But these very real eye-catching blooms grow with abandon and last all summer long! Use your Gerbera daisies to add flare to a traditional landscape planting. They're an exciting alternative to standard bedding plants such as marigolds, petunias and salvia. Planted in your garden, they will attract bees and butterflies, but not deer. They're also ideal for containers such as window boxes and patio planters. When the weather turns cool in fall, take the pots inside to a sunny windowsill. Your plants will perk up the following spring, just in time to enjoy another season of glorious blooms. These versatile, easy-to-grow plants also are long lasting in the vase. Professional florists love them for cut-flower arrangements-and so will you. Try them for yourself and you will unlock new creative possibilities! Spring Hill Gerbera Daisies come in red, orange, pink, yellow and white. Each grows to a height of 12-18" with a spread of 12-15". Shipped in 3" pot. Deer tend to avoid.

Hardy Shrub Hibiscus Collection
Hardy Shrub Hibiscus Collection
When you think of hibiscus, most likely you picture a tropical treasure blooming in a sultry, sun-drenched climate where flowers flourish year-round with no cold winters to withstand. But, we'd like you to picture hibiscus flourishing in a new setting - your own backyard! Thanks to exciting introductions from the U.S. National Arboretum, now even Northern gardeners can enjoy the tropical appeal of hibiscus for months on end, year after year! There's more to Spring Hill's collection of hardy hibiscus than the ability to survive cold Northern winters and searing Southern summers. These beauties burst into bloom in mid summer, when early perennials such as forsythia have lost their luster, and fall plantings like asters and mums are far from flowering. Not only do they produce an abundance of blooms, they keep on blooming - not just for days or weeks, but for up to four months or more! These versatile plants can be used for groupings, masses, shrub borders or even specimen plantings. Growing 6-10' tall, hardy hibiscus ask only for full sun to partial shade conditions and will tolerate almost any well-drained soil - even sandy soil. And when it comes to heat, they can take whatever Mother Nature dishes out. Tropical flair, terrifically tough - try them! The Hardy Shrub Hibiscus Collection includes one each of the lovely lavender-violet Minerva, glistening white and burgundy Helene, and alluring dark-pink Aphrodite. Each one is carefully grown in a top-quality 4" pot. You'll also receive a rare Freedom hibiscus, another hardy midsummer bloomer with double, coral-red blossoms - absolutely FREE!
