Vitex Leaf Grade 2 Essential Oil 4 oz: ES Vitex Leaf Grade 2 Essential Oil 4 oz: ES

The Kalyx label provides all the important information about the essential oil, including botanical name, part of plant used, method of isolation, country of origin, chemical class of the oil (monoterpene, sesquiterpene, monoterpenol, sesquiterpenol, aldehyde, ketone, ester, etc.) and commercial grade of the oil. Our essential oils are GC/MS (Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry) analyzed by Applied Essential Oil Research for quality assurance. Our 1 oz size comes in a very high quality colorless thick frosted glass bottle, allowing you to appreciate the beautiful spectrum of colors that these oils exhibit. We feel that it is impossible to fully experience an essential oil without being familiar with all its characteristics, including its odor, flavor, chemistry and its color. Our 4 oz & 16 oz bottles are unbreakable aluminum, the best and safest way to transport large sizes of valuable essential oils. Essential oils are the volatile, aromatic oils obtained by steam or hydrodistillation of botanicals. Most essential oils are primarily composed of terpenes and their oxygenated derivatives. Different parts of the plants can be used to obtain essential oils, including the flowers, leaves, seeds, roots, stems, bark, wood, etc. Essential oils contain the odor, taste and medicinal properties of the plant itself, but in very concentrated form, with no base oil, alcohol, water or dilutants added. Essential oils are very potent and should always be used sparingly and in conjunction with a reliable reference. We are currently working on getting certificates of analysis for each of our Kalyx.com essential oils. Those oils for which we have already completed analytical data sheets can be accessed here. Our essential oils are graded here is the meaning of the grade numbers: 1 = Commercial grade oils, mass produced specifically for the fragrance and flavor industries. 2 thru 6 = Higher quality than commercial with better odor properties, pesticide free according to GC/MS analysis. 7 = Oils certified organic (pesticide-free) at the farm level. 9 = Wild Crafted - naturally growing in the wild, not cultivated, organically-grown by nature. All oils are sold by weight and not by volume. Essence Fulfillment Center cannot deliver to PO Boxes. Please provide a STREET ADDRESS for this fulfillment center.

Chaste Tree Berries Whole (Vitex agnus castus; Nirgundi) 1 lb: K Chaste Tree Berries Whole (Vitex agnus castus; Nirgundi) 1 lb: K

This is Frontier's nitrogen-flushed double wall silverfoil pack. Some Frontier packs are double wall wax-lined paper. Used as an infusion, decoction, extract and tincture. The 1997 Commission E on Phytotherapy and Herbal Substances of the German Federal Institute for Drugs recommends Chaste tree fruit for 'Irregularities of the menstrual cycle. Premenstrual complaints. Mastodynia [breast pain].' 'Daily dosage: aqueous-alcoholic extracts corresponding to 30 - 40 mg of the drug. Mode of Administration: Aqueous-alcoholic extracts (50 - 70 percent v/v) from the crushed fruits taken as liquid or dry extract.' Chaste tree fruit contains iridoid glycosides, flavonoids, and terpenoids. Clinical trials have shown significant reduction of the whole range of PMS symptoms resulting from prolonged use of Chaste tree berry extract, from irritability and headaches to cramping and breast pain. Other trials have shown genuine effectiveness for women suffering from infertility and irregular periods. Grieve's calssic 'A Modern Herbal': '...the berries somewhat like peppercorns, dark purple, halfcovered by their sage-green calyxes, yellowish within, hard, having an aromatic odour; taste warm, peculiar. The seeds were once held in repute for securing chastity, and the Athenian matrons in the sacred rites of Ceres used to string their couches with the leaves.' 'The fresh ripe berries are pounded to a pulp and used in the form of a tincture for the relief of paralysis, pains in the limbs, weakness, etc.' Chaste Tree Berries are ancient in European tradition for hemorrhage following childbirth and menstrual regulation, discussed at length by Hippocrates, Dioscorides and Theophrastus. Contemporary research supports these ancient physicians, showing that the whole fruit is medicinally active. Vitex causes the pituitary gland to produce luteinizing hormone. This increases progesterone production and helps regulate a woman's cycle, re-establishing the normal balance between estrogen and progesterone. The underproduction of progesterone can cause PMS and other related problems. This glandular balancing can be profoundly helpful during menopause. Vitex also keeps prolactin secretion in check. The ability to decrease mildly elevated prolactin levels may benefit some infertile women as well as some women with premenstrual syndrome. A double-blind study, confirming other studies, showed Vitex to be more effective than vitamin B6 in controlling PMS symptoms. This is not a fast acting remedy, and will not give immediate symptomatic relief. It is safe to use over long periods. http://www.herbmed.org/Herbs/Herb135.htm: Clinical Trials Women with fertility disorders benefited from V. agnus-castus obtaining more pregnancies then the placebo group Gerhard 1998 1.8 ml/d (60 drops) Vitex extract for 3 months to 48 women reduced menstrual associated breast pain Halaska 1998 Prolactin increased in men taking 120 mg/d but decreased with 480 mg/d Merz 1996

Chastetree Fruit (Vitex rotundifolia; Man Jing Zi) Powdered: 500 gm (1.17 lb): V Chastetree Fruit (Vitex rotundifolia; Man Jing Zi) Powdered: 500 gm (1.17 lb): V

This is Plum Flower brand's nitrogen-flushed vacuum pack. Plum Flower is one of the most distinguished herb houses in the world. Sulfur Free, Chlorine Free, Aluminum Phosphate Free. Sulfites are used to give herbs the appearance of freshness. As with dried fruit. un-sulfured herbs look different than those that are adulterated with preservatives. Herbs that are preservative free are more natural looking and are generally darker. The brightness of the herbs may be appealing, but it indicates the presence of harmful additives. Despite their appearance, unsulfured herbs are more fresh and safer than regular commercially available products. The use of sulfur, chlorine and aluminum phosphate was made unnecessary through the establishment of Plum Flower processing stations in China. Herb harvesters slice and process the herbs fresh, avoiding the need to rehydrate dried herbs later to process. This first step is crucial, as rehydration leads to decomposition and thus the need for preservatives. The herbs are then packed and the packages vacuum-packed, injected with nitrogen, and sealed. The nitrogen process combined with the lack of sulfur treatment inhibits the growth of anaerobic organisms, resulting in safer, higher quality herbs. After opening, store in a cool dry place. The facilities in Lanzhou and Guang Zhou, China, scientifically test each batch of herbs before, during and after the processing to make sure that all the active ingredients are present. Herbs are also tested to ensure that the formulas surpass all FDA guidelines regarding heavy metals. Those herbs exported to the U.S. are voluntarily submitted to the FDA for approval. Finally, batches are regularly sent out for quality control testing in third-party labs to double-ensure that Plum Flower products are 100% free of pharmaceuticals, preservatives and dyes. The Lanzhou and Guang Zhou factories are so clean, they are certified by the Australian Governments Therapeutic Goods Administration (GMP). These standards surpass any of the FDA, and are considered the highest for any government agency in the world. Varuna Fulfillment Center items are special ordered. These take an extra week to deliver.

Chastetree Fruit (Vitex rotundifolia; Man Jing Zi) 5:1 Extract Powder 100 gm: V Chastetree Fruit (Vitex rotundifolia; Man Jing Zi) 5:1 Extract Powder 100 gm: V

This is a potent 5 to 1 powdered extract, meaning that one gram of extract is equal in potency to 5 grams of herb. This extract is packed in Plum Flower Brand's nitrogen-flushed, safety-sealed dispenser bottle, a sample of which is pictured above. Plum Flower is one of the most distinguished herb houses in the world. This is a pure herbal product with no additives. Extracted from sulfur-free and chlorine-free herbs for superior quality. Manufactured in a low-temperature water extraction process to preserve herb integrity. Extracted essential oils are replenished for proper potency. Strict quality control testing to ensure microbiological and heavy metal safety. Only powdered herb added to maintain purity (no artificial fillers such as lactose, cellulose or starch used). TLC (Thin-layer Chromatography) tested to guarantee product quality. Plum Flower takes great care to preserve delicate herbal oils, which are first evaporated using either a water or water-alcohol base in a process that never exceeds 100° centigrade. Sealed vacuum chargers precisely control the temperature, ensuring that none of the oils are lost. Cheaper, high-temperature methods are common industry practice, but these tend to burn off the vital oils.
