COMMENTS:
This elegant herb has finely divided, pungent, gray-green leaves, and daisy flowers in white pink and rose.

Uses: Dried flower centers contain a non-toxic, non-accumulative insecticide, pyrethrum. It is sprinked indoors and outdoors to ward off flies, ants, cockroaches, and bedbugs, and used carefully on animals to kill fleas and lice. The powder needs to be dissolved in alcohol before it can be diluted with water for garden use. To avoid harming useful insects, it should be sprayed at dusk as it decomposes overnight. The active ingredients only become toxic if they are extracted and concentrated. Skin contact can cause dermatitis. Makes a beautiful border plant and cut flower.

Insecticide: 1 Tablespoon of freshly ground dried flowers with 2qt. hot water. Add a little soap and let stand. Strain and put in sprayer container. For more bug spray recipes please view this page Natural Bug Sprays
